Lifecasting - it’s all the rage! Here are five reasons why you too should blog and tweet incessantly about the minutia of your life, take daily photographs of yourself and post them to Flickr and strap a video camera to your body that will stream your every move to anyone with an Internet connection.
If any of these apply to you, what are you waiting for? Get out there and start over-sharing with the world! What’s the worst that could happen?
In all seriousness though… please don’t.
This is rich.. seeing how i subscribe to your twitter, your blog, your facebook and your Flickr… but no seriously.
in the last 10-25 years, there seems to have been a push to the “You’re Special” brand of parenting. No more ribbon for first and second; now everyone gets a ribbon for participating. If you’re not good enough to make the team, Mom and Dad will sue to school district for something. No matter what, you can’t fail.. you are special, you are wonderful and you are as good as everyone.
Well, clearly this social egalitarianism doesn’t hold much water in the real world where these millennials (as I hear them referred to as) are starting to find themselves. Do twitter, facebook, youtube et al provide the attention that these people got used to growing up? Are these all just bandaids for withdrawal symptoms?
And i’m right on the gen x / gen y cusp… which explains why i go through phases of twittering b/c it makes me special and then give it up for months on end b/c it’s “for the kids”
Really nice job w/the #mzcramer webinar today. Multiple takeaways for the modest investment of an hour or so. Looks like I’ve got some serious work to do in the facial hair department, though.
